On MarthaStewart.com today the craft of the day is making cloth dinner napkins from old oxford shirts. (pictured below from marthastewart.com) I thought about how many times I have taken old button down oxfords to the thrift store because they have either shrunk, gotten an unfix-able tear, or they have just gotten really old. This is a great way to also cut down on using paper products. Tools and Materials
Old oxford shirts
Scissors
Ruler
Needle and thread
Oxford Napkins How-To
1. Wash the oxford shirts well. Cut the clean fabric into uniformly sized pieces, about 12 inches square.
2. Either leave the edges frayed, or sew a hem for a cleaner look.
